i've been excited about this post for weeks

a few weeks ago, drew won a photo scavenger hunt and therefore got the chance to create the next list. he asked me for some help coming up with the list but i was of absolutely no use. i'm sorry-yy-yyy-yyy!! drew did great without any assistance and sent me the list when he was finished. then he told me i should attempt it...and after some hesitation, i agreed to give it a shot.

the last few weeks have been amazing for many reasons and trying drew's scavenger hunt was definitely one of those reasons. in addition to offering my thanks to drew, i must also extend a huge triple-scoop of thank you to linde frances arnold, mark patrick sena and adam buck marto for their eagerness to participate and for making this so much fun. with their assistance, i managed to get a picture for each item. but more importantly, constantly having my camera allowed me to capture some special moments with three very special people.

thanks drew!!!

thanks linde!!!

thanks mark!!!

thanks adam!!!

and now, the pictures.

notes

1. i guess i should have thanked ruby, too. thanks, rubes!

6. CRACKS me up whenever i look at it. it reminds me of a poster to a judd apatow film.

7. all linde. she saw it on a walk with ruby once.

8. reminds me of emily, tony and colonnabone. love you guys and hope all is well!!

9. lucky number 3 was news to me but adam was adamant. great face!

11. like 100 ft from mark and adam's apt building. adam lead me to it. apparently, it was used to lead president grover cleveland's horses to and around bourne. or something like that. whoa.

12. these are called ultimate nachos and boy, were they ultimate. i stupidly ordered the large size even though it was just linde and i dining. ultimately, we put a respectably large dent in them, yo.

13. mr. bo shingles.

14. i love her.

double bonus - mark, shannon and i stopped to get ice cream on a beautiful day. i saw this girl and wanted to take an innocent "child eating ice cream on a beautiful day" photo but had to be sneaky so that the dad wouldn't wonder what the hell i was doing. when adam saw it and called me a pervert right away, i was a little hurt but realized i had the double bonus picture.

great times!!

can't even think of a title

when i started this blog, each post was composed of words and words only. lately, the quality and quantity of the writing has seriously waned. i'm not sure why i can't/don't write any more but i am sure that it bothers me. i think the fact that the family computer is in the living room makes it hard for me to focus my thoughts. also, this last year has been so crazy that just the idea of trying to put any of it into words makes me tired. i could write about pieces of it, but those pieces are woven together so intricately that i'd be leaving out huge chunks. and lastly, there are good things happening lately and, honestly, i don't know how to write about good stuff.

anyway, i just wanted to thank you guys for still coming here even though the writing has been noticeably crappy. it means so much to me that you look at the photos and offer feedback and encouragement. thanks, y'all.

big pimpin' at mark and adam's.

"why am i bonkahs?"

"oh yeah, that's why."

marto silhouette-o.

smell ya!

:-)!!

poorly centered because i had to chop the unshakeable-no-matter-how-i-tried-the-picture shadow at the bottom.

:-)!!

oink.

sheryl and cameron.

the world of gas frightens and confuses mark.

adam is enthused about the just-noticed damage to mark's car because mark put a pizza box on adam's bed the previous night. karma, y'all.

nasty-ass sign.

long and green (like a curly booger)

in july 2007, matty lamp lamp was kind enough to invite me to attend a mets game with him because, well...I LOVE THE METS!!!!! a month earlier i had purchased a new camera and it was a significant upgrade over the one i was replacing. therefore, i brought the camera with me to shea stadium and had a blast watching the game with MLL and taking photos. since that day i've been dying to bring my camera to another sporting event to see what kind of pictures i might take. you can imagine how excited i was on christmas when my brother johnnie and i opened up tickets from mom to the celtics game against the heat this past sunday. not only would i be able to try my hand at more sports photos, but the celtics are good again...really good. oh, and i'd get some q.t. with the bro, yo, which is always welcome.

the jumbotron and the rafters where the championship banners and the retired numbers reside.

this was the view from our seats. we'd never ever ever sat so close!! every other time we sat in the balcony, often in the last possible row with our backs against the wall. i couldn't believe these were our seats!!! mom done did good, y'all.

lucky, the celtics mascot, prepares to smack the asses of all the celtics dancers with his huge green mitts.

prior to the opening tip, ray allen greets mark blount, a former celtic. every time blount touched the ball, the crowd booed him loudly.

as has been his tradition all year long, james posey hugs each member of the starting five before the tip and fires them up with words of encouragement. here, it's paul pierce's turn for the hug.

pierce looks on as eddie house slaps five with kevin garnett.

kg guards blount.

during a timeout these kid dancers came out and the crowd went wild.

kg during a foul shot.

glen "big baby" davis and james posey get set to check into the game. above posey in the red shirt is tommy heinsohn and to his right is mike gorman. they are the tv commentators for every celtics game. tommy heinsohn is a former celtic player and coach and has won championships in both capacities. basically, he bleeds green. i love listening to these guys. in fact, i'm listening to them as i post this.

posey takes his warm-ups off as pierce heads to the bench.

big baby and posey play some d.

this was a certified circa 1923 blowout.

posey covers ricky davis, another former celtic. i was a fan of ricky when he played here.

chris quinn shoots over sam cassell.

same cassell picks himself up off the parquet.

this lady was the halftime entertainment and she was incredible. she rode like an 8 ft unicycle. then, someone would throw bowls to her (first a single bowl, then two, then three and so on). she'd catch them and stack them bottom-to-bottom/opening-to-opening on the end of one foot all the while balancing on the unicycle with her other foot. as if that wasn't enough, she'd kick the stacked bowls into the air...and catch them on her head where they'd land stacked!!! i kid you not. each time she pulled it off (which was every time), the crowd went nuts. i've never seen anything like it!

see? incredible!

rajon rondo saves the ball as the celtics shoot at the basket nearest to johnnie and me.

ray allen drives. this might be my favorite.

kg passes out of a triple-team...

...to ray allen for three!!! he made this one.

rondo plays tenacious d.

ray allen drains another three.

kg directs the defense.

ray allen shoots another three.

it's paul pierce's turn to nail a three.

ray allen shoots another jumper.

the final score was 88-62, celtics. the heat set an nba record for fewest field goals ever made in a game with 17. what a great time we had. go celtics!!!!

next up - a thursday afternoon red sox game in may with linde. the tickets were my birthday present from mom. can't wait!!!
