catching up
a couple of weekends ago linde had saturday and sunday off (which is rare) so we went to newport, r.i. saturday and stopped in providence on the way back sunday. i'd never been to newport but had heard lots of great things. i was definitely not disappointed (although being with linde probably had as much to do with that as newport did).
this is the awesome hotel linde chose.

this was taken from one of the windows in our room. i felt like a private eye trying to determine if my client's husband was cheating. we thought her hat was pretty silly looking. but later, we were out walking and stopped at a bar just in time to catch the kentucky derby which neither of us knew was taking place. then the hat made more sense. the kentucky derby made us sad, by the way.
this is sam the seagull. he loved our balcony. he was there forever and didn't fly away when linde bravely opened the balcony door and i dove under the bed.
linde is a rebel.

sailorman turned around right as i was taking this and i thought he was going to yell at me. he didn't.

no docking!!!
we had to check out one of the mansions before we left. this one is called rosecliff.

the rich like to show off by throwing extra letters in their signs. gotta give credit to linde on this one as she saw it first.
i don't know what kind of tree this is but i call it a celtics tree due to the coloring. go celtics!
this is in providence now. we stopped at some shoe store on thayer street and linde purchased these awesome special editions chucks. yay!
this painting was hanging out by the street. i think it was being chucked.

this is back at a memorial park by linde's brother's house.

i still have more catching up to do. linde and i went to the red sox game on thursday so i want to post about that. plus, drew gave me a new scavenger hunt that i've almost finished. yay, posts!!
