fling the floppybrat

air's new album, talkie walkie, is fantastic. i absolutely love it. take the spaced out lounge of moon safari, the dark vibe of the virgin suicides, and the strangest parts of 10,000 hz legend, throw it all in a blender, and...voila! you have talkie walkie. serve with hot peppers, if you're nasty.

this weekend was pretty awesome. saturday night mom and i went out for dinner. then we came home and watched the pirates of the carribean dvd that she got me for christmas. neither of us had seen it and we both really enjoyed it. i can see why johnny depp was nominated for best actor.

yesterday i watched the superbowl with johnnie and tyrone at their apartment. good times. lots of laughs, foodstuffs, and nail-biting. awesome game. desired outcome.

johnnie played me a cd of some of the song ideas he's been working on. i was impressed. i hope he turns them into something. he asked me to make him a trippy radiohead mix cd which was unexpected and awesome. i'm sure it'll be a fun mix to make.

i played for him some of the stuff i've done on the turntables with the records he gave me for christmas. he seemed to enjoy it. mom has also heard it and she got a real kick out of some of the songs. i want to turn it into halfofaninetyminutetape soon but i think i'm short an opener. johnnie made an interesting suggestion - he thought it'd be cool to try to make a movie based around the songs i played for him. hmmmmm.

i'm also really digging this m83 cd. i linked to a review of it over there, to the right. see? maaa. i wonder if anyone who comes here ever reads any of those reviews. bueller? bueller?

almost forgot - friday night i finally watched ani's render dvd all the way through (i've only had it for a year). i liked it a lot. brought back some good memories. she's too talented, though. i'm jealous.

i have some mixes to make now. marto wants a best of 2003, still gotta make one for gina, and now the radiohead one. man, i wish i could make a living out of this. actually, i'd settle for being able to buy some cookies.

i could mention the length of this post now, but that'd be lame.

oops.
