on adam and pictures and cd's

i wanted to attend adam's send-off party this weekend at markto's, but i got up too late on saturday. i hope everyone had a good time and that i'll get to see a lot of you in october.

adam, i wish you the best of luck in your new endeavour. i know you are up to the challenge and i look forward to hearing all about your experiences. if you ever get too stressed, remember to crawl under your nearest table and let out a few barks.

although i missed the party, i still managed to have a pretty awesome weekend. saturday night, kim, gina, and i had dinner at chili's. i don't know what it is, but i've been to this chili's three times now and it's gotta be the most amazing chili's ever (which might help to explain why there's a wait no matter what time you arrive). the food is just...wow. kim's friend jackie was the manager saturday night so she chopped our bill down a 3rd. extra yummy.

prior to chili's on saturday night, i bought a camera while kim and gina were doing some border's book shopping. big news, right? i know i'm like 8 years behind, but, man, digital photography is so much fun. i can't stop taking pictures.

sunday gina and i took a trip into the city. i brought the camera with me and got some pretty good pictures. we went to othermusic, which is this small little store that has an amazing selection. they have cd's that even newbury comics doesn't have and since i am reduced to shopping at best buy now... i picked up the following 4 discs:

devendra banhart: rejoicing in the hands
joanna newsom: the milk-eyed mender
junior boys: last exit
viktor vaughn: venomous villain

the junior boys still needs to grow on me some, but the other 3 are fantastic.

on the walk home from parking my car last night, i was standing, camera out, in front of an "elks lodge parking" sign when a man approached me. he asked me if i had gotten a parking ticket. sure didn't help me to feel any less weird about walking around at night taking pictures. but still, it's too much fun to really care.

my boss has the first cd player (johnnie and) i ever got (thanks frank) in her office. definitely did a touble take when i saw that.

keep it real, stachelek.
